“‘Homecoming King’ is a roller-coaster ride. Onstage, Minhaj is a charming, energetic comedian and an absorbing storyteller”

“Minhaj is one of the most authentic voices to come onto the storytelling scene in years. ”

Catherine Burns, The Moth

“Hasan Minhaj has the goods. He’s funny, thoughtful and really smart. And it’s not just about his tall and amazing hair. You’re going to laugh; cry, because you, unlike me, can still feel.”

Jon Stewart

“Minhaj takes what had to have been a devastating moment in his life and turns it into something more: a tale of human redemption and personal growth.”

“Minhaj…is a magnanimous storyteller…Without a doubt, ‘Homecoming King’ is a magnicifent triumph, and a hilariously compelling journey that is not to be missed-otherwise, log kya kahenge?”

Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King, is the theatrical debut of humorist and “The Daily Show” correspondent Hasan Minhaj. It is currently touring North America. It originally opened Off Broadway as a limited engagement at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York City in the fall of 2015. Homecoming King, the story of the “New Brown America,” is based on true events from Minhaj’s first generation Indian-American experience. Navigating between two worlds, it follows Minhaj’s arrival in the US, meeting his sister, interracial love, racism, bullying, and his family’s quest to achieve the elusive American Dream.
Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King is written and performed by Hasan Minhaj and directed by Greg Walloch. Stage Manager is Jaimie Van Dyke. Support for Homecoming King is provided by the Sundance New Frontier Storytelling Lab and the Doris Duke New Frontier Fellowship.

ayasin_23 story 1/8/16: I’m a regular watcher of TDS for 2 years now. Jon Stewart and Trevor Noah have been and are staples in my house. @hasanminhaj was Jon’s last hire as a correspondent, and he has transcended that position. Watching him on TV has been great (whether it be Muslim Makeover or WHISIS) but to see him on stage was mind blowing.
Hasan’s show is a must watch. It’s not just another immigrant tale or episode of Master of None. It’s his genuine life story and embodies everything comedy should be, authentic and relatable.
